Dette er Vrangvendt Mørke, en installation der sætter fokus på, hvor meget lys og lyd kan ændre oplevelsen af et sted.
Der er mange ubehagelige steder i Kolding, der enten er præget af manglende belysning eller har en ubehagelig historik. Noget der alt sammen er med til at skabe utryghed for dem, der færdes i byen.
Vi ønsker med Vrangvendt Mørke at forstærke den oplevelse af utryghed, vi har, når vi i det daglige skal igennem Grafittitunnellen og byens andre skumle steder og stræder.
Vi ønsker at sætte fokus på, hvordan disse steder opleves - og at det kan forbedres ved belysningen alene. Derfor er kontrasten til det dystre - nemlig lyset og roen - en vigtig del af vores installation.
Et rum er ikke bare et rum. Opfattelsen af et sted kan ændre sig drastisk med ganske få virkemidler. Det er, hvad vi ønsker at vise her. Kontrasten mellem lys og mørke. Utryghed og ro. Samme sted, to vidt forskellige oplevelser.
Vi håber, vores installation kan inspirere til handling og forbedringer af byens skumle steder, så byrummet bliver tryggere og vi sammen kan få det bedste frem i Kolding.
Hvem er vi?
Vi er Lasse Lund og Kristine Nydahl. To lokale kunstnere, der tilsammen udgør det audiovisuelle projekt Vrangvendt.
Vrangvendts univers er både smukt og dystert, og det er herfra, vi skaber vores musik og kunst. Senest har vi komponeret musik til en vampyrfilm, der er blevet vist på Cannes Film Festival.

Vrangvendt Mørke is an installation that highlights how profoundly light and sound can change the experience of a place.
Many locations in Kolding feel uncomfortable—either due to poor lighting or because of their unsettling history. All of this contributes to a sense of insecurity for those who move through the city.

With Vrangvendt Mørke, we want to amplify the unease we feel when passing through the Graffiti Tunnel and other shadowy places and alleyways in the city.
We want to draw attention to how these places are perceived—and to the fact that they can be improved by lighting alone. That is why the contrast to the dark—the light and the calm—is an essential part of our installation.

A room is never just a room. The perception of a place can change drastically with only a few simple elements. This is what we aim to show here: the contrast between light and darkness, unease and serenity. The same location, two vastly different experiences.
We hope our installation can inspire action and improvements in the city’s dim and unsettling areas, so the urban space becomes safer—and so we can bring out the best in Kolding together.

Who are we?
We are Lasse Lund and Kristine Nydahl, two local artists who together form the audiovisual project Vrangvendt.
The Vrangvendt universe is both beautiful and dark, and it is from this space that we create our music and art. Most recently, we composed the score for a vampire film screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
